Between the Covers This small, independent bookstore is going on 40 years as a presence in Harbor Springs, a resort town in Northern Michigan whose year-round population of about 1,250 grows by over six times in the late spring and summer months. Katie Capaldi Boeckl took ownership of the store in March of 2013, transitioning from a seasonally-focused “hobby” business, to a viable and sustainable entity in the town and surrounding areas.
