2002 ABA Booksellers Forums

ABA Booksellers Forums provide members with an opportunity to meet with representatives of the ABA staff and Board to discuss issues relating to ABA programs, bookselling, and the state of the industry. Forums get under way in January, and are scheduled through February, March, and April. Stay tuned to BTW for further details of upcoming forums.

The first ABA member forum will be held on Wednesday, January 16, at the DoubleTree Hotel Atlanta/Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. The forum will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

On Thursday, February 7, there will be an ABA forum from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The forum will follow the Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA) Board meeting.

On Tuesday, February 12, there will be an ABA forum from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in Westford, Massachusetts. The forum will follow the New England Booksellers Association (NEBA) Advisory Council meeting.

On the morning of Wednesday, March 20, there will be an ABA Booksellers forum at Transitions Bookstore in Chicago. ABA CEO Avin Mark Domnitz will conduct a seminar, "Basic Bookstore Finances," before the forum.

Domnitz will again hold the financial seminar before the ABA forum takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the morning of Friday, March 22. The forum will be held in conjunction with the Mountains and Plains Booksellers Association (MPBA) meeting.

On Saturday, March 23, there will be an ABA forum in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) Spring Show. Carl Lennertz, ABA senior marketing consultant, will run a Book Sense session from 4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

There will be an ABA forum held in conjunction with the Southern California Booksellers Association (SCBA) show on Saturday, April 6, in San Diego, California.

On Sunday, April 7, there will be an ABA forum held in conjunction with the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (NCIBA) Spring Workshops. The forum will take place in San Francisco.

On Tuesday, April 9, there will be an ABA forum from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in Princeton, New Jersey. The forum is being held in conjunction with the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association's (NAIBA) Spring Event.

On Thursday, April 11, there will be an ABA forum in Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts, from 10:00 a.m. - noon. The forum will be held in conjunction with the NEBA show.

There will be an ABA forum held in conjunction with the Upper Midwest Booksellers Association's (UMBA) Spring Weekend on Saturday, April 13, or Sunday, April 14. The forum will take place in Madison, Wisconsin.
