ABA Board of Directors Nomination Process Begins September 2

On Wednesday, September 2, the American Booksellers Association Board of Directors will begin seeking nominations (including self-nominations) for ABA member booksellers to join the board.

The requirements are:

  1. Candidates for the Board of Directors must be the owner or employee of an independent bookstore with a storefront location that is operated according to sound business principles.
  2. Board candidates must have at least three years of recent experience as an owner or employee of a member company.

To help booksellers understand the full scope of the election process, ABA has launched the “Board of Directors Elections” page on BookWeb.org. The page can be found on the “About” dropdown menu.

The page includes the dates and deadlines for the 2020–2021 election; requirements to be nominated for a director position; and information about the petition process.
