ABA CEO Oren Teicher Talks Indies on “The Literary Life With Mitchell Kaplan”

American Booksellers Association CEO Oren Teicher made a guest appearance on the Small Business Saturday episode of the podcast The Literary Life With Mitchell Kaplan to talk about independent bookstores and their cultural significance. The podcast was recorded during the Miami Book Fair, which was held November 11–18.

Podcast host Mitchell Kaplan is the owner of Books & Books, which has opened a number of locations in the greater Miami area since its founding in 1982, and a co-founder of the Miami Book Fair.

During the fair, Teicher also joined author Jason Reynolds, the Indies First spokesperson for 2018, in kicking off the “Indie Bookstores Give Back on Small Business Saturday” campaign by giving away special-edition paperback editions Ghost, the first book in Reynolds’ New York Times bestselling Track series.
