The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance will kick off the fall trade show season on September 7 - 9, 2012, at the Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Florida. And once again, the American Booksellers Association will be there, and at each of the seven other regional shows this fall, to offer educational programming and to meet with booksellers to hear their concerns and to share updates on ABA’s programs and initiatives.

Joining booksellers at the SIBA show will be ABA CEO Oren Teicher, Content Officer Dan Cullen, and Member Relationship Manager Nathan Halter. ABA will have a booth on the trade show floor, where booksellers will learn more about how they can continue to play a role in the world of e-books and how to participate in a unique way in Small Business Saturday this November. The booth will also feature information on ABA’s first-ever Events Specialty Institute to be held this October in Minneapolis, and about the Eighth Annual Winter Institute to be held in Kansas City, Missouri, in February 2013.  Booksellers who drop off a business card at the booth will earn an extra entry into a sweepstakes to win a scholarship Wi8.

From 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, ABA staff will present the education session “E-Books and Independent Bookstores,” which will introduce booksellers to a new way of selling e-books. Attendees will get the latest updates and an in-depth introduction to a digital solution that can add value to their bricks-and-mortar businesses. The session will include an opportunity for booksellers to ask questions.

Booksellers with questions about ABA’s participation at the SIBA show should contact Nathan Halter via e-mail or at (800) 637-0037, ext. 6614.
