ABA Launches Project to Pick the Best of Book Sense

As part of this year's celebrations of Book Sense at Five, ABA is asking booksellers to help select the best Book Sense 76 titles published during the past five years. Participation is open to all employees of ABA member bookstores, and all participants in the selection process will be entered into a Bookseller Contest with prizes for five booksellers. The grand prize will be free admission and housing at BookExpo America for the next five years.

The goal of the project is to pick the top 15 adult and top 10 children's titles from bookseller recommendations to the Book Sense 76 since the lists launched in September 1999. All booksellers, from those who staff the front desk to those at the backroom receiving table, will have a voice in the Best of Book Sense selection process.

Printed ballots are being sent to stores with Book Sense in the January White Box mailing, and interactive forms are available online at www.bookweb.org/read/6665. The printed ballot may be photocopied for distribution to all employees. Completed forms should be mailed to ABA, 828 South Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591, Attn: Best of Book Sense. Forms sent by mail must be postmarked by Monday, February 9. Forms may also be faxed to (914) 591-2720. Ballots sent by fax or through the online form must be received by Monday, February 16. Only one adult and one children's ballot is allowed per bookseller.
