ABA Seeks Feedback on Childcare Options for 2020 Winter Institute

The American Booksellers Association has launched a survey to gauge the level of interest in childcare options for the 15th annual Winter Institute, which will be held January 21–24 in Baltimore, Maryland.

ABA is considering partnering with the national company Flexable to provide on-site childcare at the 2020 event. If survey responses indicate that this amenity will be utilized by attendees, ABA will pursue securing Flexable’s services.

All registered attendees — booksellers, publishers, authors, and guests — will be able to take advantage of the service. The cost of childcare will be dependent on the commitment level by parents; Flexable charges $100 a day per caregiver, and one caregiver is required for every five children.

Completing the survey is no guarantee that on-site childcare will be available during the conference, nor should the survey be considered a registration form to secure childcare; attendees will be asked to sign up at a later date once the service is finalized.

Fill out the childcare survey now. Questions or concerns about childcare options at Winter Institute can be directed to ABA Meetings and Planning Officer Jill Perlstein.
