The American Booksellers Association Discount Shipping Program recently announced even better rates for members participating in the program: UPS Freight and Yellow Transportation have increased discounts on less-than-truckload freight shipments to 64 percent from 62 percent. According to PartnerShip, the program's administrator, businesses currently enrolled in the program automatically received the new pricing when it went into effect on June 15.

"Because of the overwhelming support of ABA member booksellers, publishers, and distributors, we are really pleased to make this announcement," said Keith Korhely, PartnerShip program manager. "Along with these additional increased freight discounts, the ABA Discount Shipping Program continues to offer significant savings with FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Home Delivery, to meet the small package needs of our customers."

The ABA Discount Shipping Program has saved businesses using the program a total average of $4.7 million per year over the past three years.
