The nearly 300 ABA member bookstores that participated in the 2006 ABACUS financial survey will begin receiving their individual store reports at the end of October. The reports will be sent via e-mail to the address that was supplied when the store submitted financial data through the ABACUS survey form.

"We anticipate that we will start sending the reports by the end of this month and hope to have them all in booksellers' hands by the middle of November," said ABA Special Projects Director David Walker.

Each ABACUS report will be fully customized for the participating store and will compare the financial performance of that store with the performance of other stores based on more than 20 different criteria (for example, size of store, sales volume, type of location, etc.). The report will also include an executive summary describing the methodology used to produce the financial comparisons and some of the key findings from this year's survey.

Participating stores should also be on the lookout for their $50 dues rebate checks, which will be sent via the U.S. Postal Service within the next two weeks.
