Friday, October 29, is the deadline for participation in the 2010 ABACUS Survey; however, the survey site will remain open through the entire weekend to allow stores not on Eastern Daylight Time to have all of Friday to complete the survey.

To submit 2009 financial data, each ABA member store must use the unique password provided in an e-mail from Martha Love of the National Association of College Stores' OnCampus Research, which is compiling the data for ABA for this year’s survey. The latest reminder e-mail, with password information, was sent to stores on October 25.

The ABACUS survey is housed on a secure web server and data is transmitted using the https protocol. Once submitted, data is accessible only to Love, as the OnCampus Research staff person responsible for the ABACUS survey. No other OnCampus Research staff or ABA staff has access to any individual store information.

Booksellers with questions about completing the survey should e-mail Love with a brief description of the problem. She can also be reached at (800) 622-7498, ext. 2448.

General questions about ABACUS should be directed to ABA COO Len Vlahos via e-mail or at (800) 637-0037 ext. 6650.

Booksellers at stores that have submitted their 2009 financial data to ABACUS can apply for the Avin Mark Domnitz Scholarship to the 2011 Winter Institute by sending an e-mail with "Domnitz Scholarship" in the subject line to ABA Education Manager Lisa Winn; the e-mail should include the applicant's name, staff title, store name, and store contact information.
