The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) has moved to:

19 Fulton Street, Suite 407
New York, NY 10038

ABFFE’s phone and fax numbers remain the same: (212) 587-4025 and (212) 587-2436, respectively.

ABFFE is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to booksellers who are faced with subpoenas, search warrants, and other demands for customer information. In case of a First Amendment emergency, ABFFE can be reached at (212) 587-4025 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. During evenings and weekends, booksellers should call (800) 727-4203.

Next week, ABA President Chris Finan will be on hand at the Winter Institute’s Consultation Station to answer booksellers’ questions about current censorship controversies, Banned Books Week, customer privacy, the ABFFE affiliate program, and anything else related to First Amendment issues. To set up an appointment to meet with Finan at the Consultation Station on Friday, January 21, between 2:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., booksellers should send an e-mail to [email protected].

To help support its crucial First Amendment work, ABFFE will be selling T-shirts featuring Washington Crossing the Delaware (With Books), a slightly altered version of the classic painting. The $15 shirts will be sold at the ABFFE Gallery, which will also feature a selection of heavily discounted posters from past BEA and ABA conventions.  A poster of the T-shirt art can be purchased online from Red Bubble.
