The Winter 2005/2006 Children's Book Sense Picks can now be previewed on BookWeb.org.

Booksellers should be receiving the Children's Picks fliers at their stores soon.

The list is the result of enthusiastic nominations from independent booksellers nationwide, both children's specialty stores and general independents.

"Very many thanks to all of the booksellers who took the time to nominate titles," said Book Sense Picks Editor-in-Chief Dan Cullen. "As you begin to set up displays featuring selections from this list, if possible, please, do take pictures and share them with us. They become a wonderful addition the presentations we make to publishers about the program."

Photos may be in print or digital format. Digital photos, approximately 3" x 5" and 300 dpi, saved as JPEG or TIFF files, can be e-mailed to Christine Babcock at [email protected]. Multiple pictures may be sent as a stuffed file (.sit); PDF or ZIP files should not be sent. Print photos and photos saved on a ZIP disk are acceptable and should be sent to the attention of Christine Babcock, ABA, 200 White Plains Rd., Tarrytown, NY 10591.

Looking ahead, the deadline for the February Book Sense Picks list is December 2, and the deadline for the Valentine's Day Top Ten is December 9.

The Valentine's Day list is compiled in conjunction with the Association of American Publishers' (AAP) Get Caught Reading initiative and is part of a series of seasonal Top Ten lists that Book Sense and AAP produce each year based on the nominations of independent booksellers nationwide. Booksellers are strongly encouraged to send in nominations for frontlist and backlist titles -- either adult or children's titles -- that would make good Valentine's Day selections.

Picks nominations may be sent via e-mail to [email protected] or via the Picks Web nomination form at www.bookweb.org/read/6305.
