Here’s what’s happening in the world of indie bookstores this week:

Mil Mundos Books in Brooklyn, New York, is now open.

The Open Book in Warrenton, Virginia, will hold its grand opening on March 22. During its soft opening on March 16, FauquierNow.com reported that the store opened “to a crush of customers.”

Lark & Owl Booksellers is coming soon to Georgetown, Texas.

The newly renovated Collected Works Bookstore & Coffeehouse in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will fully reopen on Saturday, March 23.

Murder on the Beach Mystery Bookstore will move to a retail space in the Delray Beach Public Library building.

Bookbub listed Bethany Beach Books as Delaware’s top bookstore.

Fables and Fairy Tales in Martinsville, Indiana, was named Martinsville’s Business of the Year.

LJWorld.com profiled Raven Book Store owner Danny Caine in an article titled, “Stocking shelves extra sweet for Lawrence bookstore owner releasing first book.” Caine will also talk to emerging authors on High Plains Public Radio every Friday from March 15 through April 5.

Kathy Burnette, owner of The Brain Lair in South Bend, Indiana, hosted an event with South Bend presidential hopeful and Mayor Pete Buttigieg to discuss his memoir Shortest Way Home (Liveright).

AMNY.com called Bluestockings Books a “safe space for feminist literature, activism and more on the LES.”

Old Town Books was featured in an article titled, “People At Work: Down a Rabbit Hole in a New Bookstore in Alexandria.”

The Wild Detectives, Deep Vellum Books, and Interabang Books were featured on a list of unique bookstores in Dallas, Texas.

Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books, Shakespeare & Co., A Novel Idea on Passyunk, Reads & Company, and Narberth Bookshop were included on a list of bookstores to check out in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Coastside Books and Ink Spell Books were named in an article titled, “Booksellers turn page toward better sales.”
