August White Box Offers Hot Stuff for the Fall Season

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

August may hold the slow-moving, humidity-filled "dog days" of summer, but the August white box offers fast-paced reading along with some great point-of-purchase sales aids guaranteed to step-up the pace in preparation for all of those new fall titles.

Here are some of the highlights.

Galleys, ARCs, and finished books:

  • From proven favorite Diane Johnson, after Le Marriage and Le Divorce, comes L'Affaire to be published by Dutton.
  • Counterpoint offers two very different titles, each with its own intensity:

Tibor Fischer's latest, Voyage to the End of the Room; and
from acclaimed author Evan Connell, Francisco Goya: A Life.

  • R.A. Salvatore returns with The Lone Drow: The Hunters Blades Trilogy, Book II, to be published by Wizards of the Coast.
  • Putnam will be guilty of keeping you up all night with the strong debut of Retribution by Jillianne Hoffman.
  • Laugh and weep and learn to play the ukelele with main character Richard Samuels as he recounts a momentous week in Me and Orson Welles by Robert Kaplow, coming from MacAdam/Cage.
