Beware of E-mail Bearing Attachments

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

This week, the American Booksellers Association issued a warning to its members and to subscribers to Bookselling This Week to beware of e-mails with attachments that appear to have come from ABA, BookSense.com, or BookWeb.org. These e-mails did not come from ABA and may contain computer viruses that can create technological problems if the attachment is opened.

It is ABA's policy never to send e-mails with attachments in an effort to ensure the recipient's computer-related security. If ABA wishes to disseminate documents via e-mail, the body of the e-mail will contain links back to ABA's Web sites.

For more information about this virus, go to http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_101071.htm. Questions may be addressed to Jeff Wexler, ABA information services director, at [email protected].
