Books & Books Westhampton Beach logoLong Island, New York’s Books & Books Westhampton Beach, which is co-owned by Denise Berthiaume and Jack McKeown, will close on Saturday, November 26, after eight years in business.

The store is offering discounts on frontlist and backlist titles through its closing date. Any unsold inventory will be donated.

Before opening Books & Books Westhampton Beach, an affiliate of the independent Books & Books chain in Florida owned by Mitchell Kaplan, Berthiaume and McKeown had long careers in the book business, Berthiaume as the president of Verso Advertising and McKeown as co-founder and CEO of Perseus Books Group.

The two are closing the store in order to retire and pursue other interests, including traveling and spending more time with family.

Berthiaume and McKeown expressed hope that a like-minded individual will step forward and bring a new bookstore to the Westhampton community in the future.
