Bookseller DIY Becomes More User-Friendly, New Designs Added

The American Booksellers Association’s Bookseller DIY has been updated and reorganized in a new, user-friendly format that makes all of its designs for posters, bookmarks, fliers and cards, shirts and stickers, e-book and web promotions more readily accessible.

The DIY also features new poster and bag designs inspired by marketing materials from the indie bookselling communities in Australia and the U.K.  Booksellers can easily find the designs that were recently added to the DIY by looking for the tag “NEW!” in red.

Based on a slogan used in an indie bookselling marketing campaign in the U.K., the new poster and bookmark designs proclaim “Find it here. Buy it here. Keep books on your Main Street.”

"What's in here?" design as a window cling.

Another indie-inspired design originates in Australia. It asks, and answers, the question, “What’s in here?” in a very creative way. The design is a simple graphic image that can be transferred onto virtually anything — it looks great on bags and works well as a window cling, among other things. Mock-ups of suggested uses for this design are also available in the DIY.

Watch for the launch of new IndieBound holiday designs in next week’s BTW.

Booksellers with questions about using the new designs, or any of the materials in the DIY, should contact ABA Marketing Manager Paige Poe.
