Booksellers Advisory Council to Welcome New Members

Six new bookseller volunteers are joining the American Booksellers Association's Booksellers Advisory Council (BAC) this June, and one will join the council in January 2005. The BAC is designed to provide the ABA Board of Directors with a broad cross-section of views from within the community of independent booksellers. The council is composed of 25 members, each of whom will serve an average two-year term.

BAC members joining the council in June are:

  • Steve Bercu, BookPeople, Austin, Texas
  • Dana Harper, Brystone Children's Books, Fort Worth, Texas
  • Mary McCarthy, Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Julie Norcross, McLean & Eakin Booksellers, Petoskey, Michigan
  • Philip Rafshoon, Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse, Atlanta, Georgia
  • DeDe Teeters, Armchair Books, Port Orchard, Washington

In January, the bookseller joining the BAC is:

  • Kevin Ryan, Green Apple Books, San Francisco, California

Booksellers ending their terms on the BAC are: Tamra Dore of Katy Budget Books, Houston, Texas; George Kiskaddon of Builders Booksource, Berkeley, California; Dee Robinson of Village Books, Bellingham, Washington; Neil Van Uum of Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Barb Wieser of Amazon Bookstore Cooperative, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
