The American Booksellers Association’s schedule of 11 Booksellers Forums, which began on February 24 and continues with four more forums in the next week, will come to end on April 26, with a program in conjunction with the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association at Talking Leaves … Books in Buffalo, New York.

Booksellers are invited to join ABA CEO Oren Teicher and Member Relationship Manager Kaitlin Pitcher for the program, which includes an education component made possible by the generous support of the Ingram Content Group.

Here’s the schedule:

  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: Linked By Passion: Growing Sales Through Local Retail Partnerships
Working with other indie businesses in the community can help you grow sales. This session will explore what you need to do to convince your indie neighbors that participating in cross-promotions or other shared events can strengthen their businesses as well.
  • 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Lunch and the ABA Booksellers Forum
Booksellers are invited to join ABA for lunch and an open forum discussion of industry issues. The ABA Board and staff want to know what is on members’ minds, and the forum provides a direct way for the association to listen to booksellers’ concerns and to answer questions and exchange ideas on industry issues and ABA’s programs and initiatives. Attendees are encouraged to come with questions and comments.

Talking Leaves ... Books is located at 3158 Main Street in Buffalo.

For planning purposes, booksellers who will be attending are asked to RSVP to  Pitcher by April 21.
