To help booksellers spread the spirit of the ever-growing Indies First campaign, the American Booksellers Association has created brand-new Indies First designs, which can be used to create in-store materials, as well as to promote the movement online.

Now available in BookWeb’s Designs & Downloads are images for three posters, three web banners, an Indies First decal/window cling, and a customizable table tent. Booksellers can also use the designs to create any merchandise they choose.

With four tagline options, items in the DIY encourage readers to “Visit your indie bookstore, first,” and remind community members that “An independent bookstore is a gathering place, a place to learn openly and share freely, to discover new writers and rediscover favorite books. Indies enrich our communities.”

Visit the Indies First DIY now to see the new designs for this fall’s Indies First campaign, which has expanded beyond Small Business Saturday and now offers a variety of ways for booksellers, authors, publishers, and customers to join together in support of independent bookstores.

As announced in BTW last week, booksellers should be planning now for the Indies First season, including coordinating author appearances for Small Business Saturday, checking out the wide range of titles available with special terms from publishers, keeping an eye out for Indies First book bags and buttons to arrive in the Indies First mailing this fall, and learning more about Indies First and Small Business Saturday at the upcoming regional shows.
