HealthCare.gov Urges Users to Reset Passwords Due to Heartbleed

Administrators of HealthCare.gov, the Affordable Care Act’s enrollment website, have reset user passwords after an audit determined that the servers hosting the insurance exchange were vulnerable to Heartbleed, reported CSOonline.

Users were told in a message posted to the site over the weekend that there was no indication of information loss, but the passwords were being reset out of an abundance of caution.

The Obama administration has warned that other government websites, including Whitehouse.gov, might produce similar warnings, CSOonline noted. Phyllis Schneck, DHS deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity and communications, said it will take time for the government to address the Heartbleed issue properly.

John Green Added to BookCon Lineup

Show organizers announced this week that award-winning author John Green will take the stage at BookCon alongside the team behind the soon-to-be-released film adaptation of his bestselling The Fault in Our Stars (Speak). Fans will also get a sneak peek at footage from the film, which is set to hit theaters on June 6.

The May 31 panel will open a window into the creative efforts behind Fox’s adaptation. “This is precisely the experience BookCon was designed to deliver as we’re giving fans of the novel a chance to hear not only from the author, but those who worked tirelessly to put John’s words onto the big screen” said Lance Fensterman, global senior vice president of ReedPOP.
