Candlewick 25th anniversary logoSomerville, Massachusetts’ Candlewick Press is celebrating its 25-year legacy and its position today as one of the leading independent publishers in the U.S. by launching CHIRP Evergreen, an initiative that affirms its commitment to the continued promotion of the backlist favorites that helped to establish its reputation and build its business via indie bookstores across the country.

CHIRP Evergreen, an offshoot of the publisher’s successful indie handselling program, creates a unique opportunity for indies to use their creativity and ingenuity to reintroduce titles to their customers from Candlewick’s award-winning backlist of more than three thousand titles in print, including those of five imprints (Templar Books, Big Picture Press, Candlewick Entertainment, Nosy Crow, and Candlewick Studio.)

“Candlewick’s Evergreen program was inspired by the American Booksellers Association’s strong message that backlists matter to bookstores,” said Elise Supovitz, Candlewick executive director of independent retail sales. “Our newly launched backlist program gives indies the tools to sell and market our backlist in the ways they successfully sell and market the frontlist. We hope this partnership with ABA stores will be a win-win for all of us.”

Complete terms and conditions, as well as an enrollment form, are available to ABA member booksellers with a BookWeb username and password on the Candlewick Press CHIRP Evergreen page on BookWeb.org.

Booksellers with questions about the program should contact their Candlewick Press sales rep; stores that do not have a Candlewick sales rep should e-mail [email protected].
