Any bookseller currently working in an ABA member store can sign up for Libro.fm’s Audiobook Listening Copy (ALC) program to gain access to more than two dozen complimentary audiobooks each month.

Booksellers who sign up on the Libro.fm site will receive a monthly e-mail that provides access to an array of popular titles, including Indie Next List picks and New York Times bestsellers.

To date, booksellers’ top eight downloads for December are:

The December ALC titles are available to booksellers until midnight PST on December 31.

“I love the program [Libro.fm is] offering, because it’s a way for me to read books that are just out and getting buzz that I might have missed when we had physical ARCs; it also allows me to listen to them so I can read while doing something else,” said Flannery Fitch of California’s Bookshop Santa Cruz.

“I have been devouring the free audiobooks — thank you for this program! It’s excellent!” said Mackenzie Van Engelenhoven of Boston’s Trident Booksellers & Café. “It’s got me to read some books I wouldn’t normally have picked up and I loved them (and have subsequently handsold them). I have been meaning to try audiobooks for a while to accompany me on my commute and these have been a godsend.”

Any ABA member store can join the 210 indie bookstore locations already selling audiobooks through a partnership between Libro.fm and the American Booksellers Association, announced last month.

On IndieCommerce sites participating in the Libro.fm program, the digital audiobook will appear on the product page along with the title’s other available formats. Libro.fm supplies the shopping cart and fulfillment via a store co-branded white label site and links back from the white label site to the referring store for purchase of the print book.
