Amid the holiday hustle and bustle, December’s issue of the ABC Toolbox was sent via e-mail last week to members of the ABC Children’s Group at ABA.

The ABC Toolbox is distributed on a bimonthly basis to all ABC Children’s Group frontline bookseller members and subscribers.  It includes programming, display, and event ideas, as well as access to free materials from publishers to help spice up members’ stores and websites.  ABC Children’s Group members can plan two months’ worth of events, displays, and windows with the ABC Toolbox materials.

Receiving the ABC Toolbox is one of the benefits of membership in the ABC Children’s Group at ABA.  Other member benefits include a dedicated listserv, 250 free ABC Best Books for Children catalogs and the ability to order custom-imprinted catalogs in larger quantities, the exclusive right to purchase tickets to the ABC Children’s Group BookExpo America event, and a “Snack Nap Read” poster. An ABC Group Advisory Panel also advocates for children’s industry issues on members’ behalf.

To continue as a member of the ABC Children’s Group, or to join, booksellers will need to opt into the ABC Children’s Group and pay a $50 fee when they renew their ABA membership for 2012. Renewal forms were sent to all ABA members last month, and a response is requested by February 28. Both children’s-only and general stores interested in growing and expanding their children’s departments can benefit from ABC Children’s Group Membership.

Booksellers with questions about their ABC Toolbox subscription and other group benefits should contact ABC Group Manager Shannon O’Connor via e-mail or  at (800) 637-0037, ext. 6651.
