Here, the IndieCommerce team shares an important look at current trends in the world of e-commerce.
Last week, the ecommerce conversion rate (the percentage of customers visiting IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites that completed a purchase) increased to 4.87 percent (blue line below). This is a slight uptick compared to the previous week and may reflect the normal increase in seasonal demand that we should start seeing at this time of the year.
The increase in the conversion rate mentioned above was offset by a decrease in online traffic (see below). This may be due to more customers shifting to in-store purchases or economic pressure on consumers.
The result of the increase in the conversion rate and the decrease in traffic is that sales revenue across the IndieCommerce network for last week decreased by 1.37 percent when compared to the previous week.
