The last of the American Booksellers Association’s 10 spring Booksellers Forums of 2015 will be held on April 28 and 29 in Washington, D.C., and Cambridge, Massachusetts, respectively. The programs are free and open to ABA members and non-members alike.
Each will feature an open forum discussion of industry issues and “Exploring New Markets,” an all-new education session presenting proven sales and marketing initiatives and practical steps for their implementation in stores.
Booksellers are encouraged to come to the forums prepared to share their thoughts, concerns, and questions with each other and with ABA on a wide range of topics.
Tuesday, April 28: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
ABA Education Session and Forum in conjunction with the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association
At Busboys & Poets, 1025 5th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
Booksellers are invited to join ABA CEO Oren Teicher, Senior Strategy Officer Dan Cullen, and ABA/NAIBA Region Member Relationship Manager Catherine Cusick for the education session “Exploring New Markets” and an open forum discussion over lunch.
The schedule for the event’s two components is as follows:
- Exploring New Markets: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- ABA Booksellers Forum: 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For planning purposes, booksellers who will be attending the Washington, D.C., forum are asked to RSVP via e-mail to Cusick before the end of the day on April 23.
Wednesday, April 29: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Booksellers are invited to join ABA CEO Oren Teicher, Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger, Senior Strategy Officer Dan Cullen, and ABA/NEIBA Region Member Relationship Manager Catherine Cusick for the ABA education session “Exploring New Markets” and an open forum discussion of industry issues.
ABA’s program will be preceded by NEIBA's All About the Books! author talks and readings and a boxed lunch featuring an author meet-and-greet. Immediately following the Booksellers Forum, there will be an author reception, Algonquin on Tap, at John Harvard Brewery & Ale House featuring Algonquin’s New England authors.

- All About the Books!: 10:30 a.m. to Noon
- NEIBA Lunch with the Authors: Noon to 1:30 p.m.
- Exploring New Markets: 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
- ABA Booksellers Forum: 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Author Reception: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
