Get Caught Reading Looks to Assist Local Community Organizations

For Get Caught Reading Month in May, Book Sense is supplying numerous ideas for booksellers. This month, expect the information about a "Community Wish List" program to help stores work with local groups in need of books.

With the Wish List concept, worthy community organizations with limited or no budgets for books, such as libraries and shelters, can decide in advance which books are needed and complete Wish List Pick slips to be displayed in the bookstore. Then, customers can purchase the books for the local groups. Prototypes of the Wish slips and in-store display and promotion suggestions are included in the mailing.
