Thanks to a significant financial commitment from Reed Exhibitions, booksellers at ABA member stores can reserve rooms at The Row NYC Hotel — Hotel ABA for BookExpo 2017 — at a great rate; however, a limited number of rooms are left.

BookExpo will be held at New York’s Javits Convention Center from Wednesday, May 31, to Friday, June 2, 2017. The Row NYC Hotel, one of the top 35 hotels in New York City as chosen by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, is located at 700 Eighth Avenue.

The ABA members-only hotel rate of $200 per night, including all taxes and fees (approximately $33 per night per room), is available for the nights of Tuesday, May 30, through Saturday, June 3, 2017. The room block is being filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To access Hotel ABA reservation information, booksellers will need a BookWeb username and password.

As in years past, ABA member booksellers are eligible for free badges to the trade show. To receive a free badge, booksellers will need to provide an ABA ID member number during the BookExpo registration process. Booksellers who don’t know their ID number should send a request with their name, title, and store name to [email protected] or call (800) 637-0037, ext. 7536.

ABA’s programming at BookExpo will include the association’s Town Hall and Annual Membership meetings; the Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Lunch, followed by exclusive author autographings in the ABA Member Lounge and Galley Room; the opportunity to “Meet the Editor” at publishers’ offices around the city; and, new in 2017, two Publicists Speed Dating sessions. ABA member-only autographing sessions will once again be offered in the ABA Member Lounge following BookExpo’s Adult and Children’s Author breakfasts.

Additional programming for children’s booksellers includes BookExpo’s Middle Grade and YA Book Buzz programs, the ABA/CBC Speed Dating Lunch With Children’s Authors, and the return of the Silent Auction of children’s book art to benefit American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) and Every Child a Reader. For the first time, the auction will feature the announcement of the Children’s Book Council’s Children’s and Teen Choice Book Award winners.

More on ABA programming at BookExpo can be found on BookWeb.org, and watch for updates in future issues of Bookselling This Week.
