Booksellers participating in the Book Sense national marketing program will have a special opportunity this summer to celebrate Harry Potters July 31st birthday. Scholastic Books and Book Sense have joined efforts to present the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Celebration" promotion.
Watch the mail in the coming days for a special party invitation counter easel. The marketing effort is designed to encourage readers to visit BookSense.com and help plan a party for the notable British wizard. In addition, one contestant will be chosen at random to win a digital camera prize pack.
For more information about this promotion, contact Meg Smith, BookSense.com business development and marketing manager, at email@example.com.
As reported last week, Book Sense stores also have the opportunity to participate in two special fall promotions. One promotion, sponsored by Houghton Mifflin and New Line Pictures, ties in with the upcoming release of the movie Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
The second promotion is sponsored by The History Channel and Washington Square Press. On October 28, the cable channel will broadcast a documentary based on the book Fire on the Mountain: The True Story of the South Canyon Fire by John N. Maclean. This promotion provides independent booksellers in the Book Sense program a unique opportunity to further strengthen their community ties by helping to raise funds for local firefighters.
