Booksellers can now place their orders for exclusive, literary-themed items for this year’s celebration of Independent Bookstore Day (IBD), Saturday, April 30. Booksellers can view the catalog and place orders on the Independent Bookstore Day website through February 1.

The Independent Bookstore Day catalog features limited-edition items for the 2016 event, including a Neil Gaiman coloring book with art by Chris Riddell, a “Bourdain’s Perfect Burger” print signed by Anthony Bourdain, and Literary Tea Towels with quotes from Anna Quindlen and David Mitchell, among other items.

Booksellers attending the Winter Institute in Denver can view the merchandise in-person and place orders with Independent Bookstore Day at the Consultation Station.

All current brick-and-mortar bookstore members of a regional independent booksellers association are eligible to participate in Independent Bookstore Day. Booksellers must order at least 15 pieces from the catalog, and all items are nonreturnable.

Orders will ship by April 15. All merchandise orders will be fulfilled by Ingram. Booksellers without an Ingram account can sign up for one here.

Booksellers can use IBD items for display as soon as they are received, but no items may be sold in-store until April 30, the day of the event. Stores can sell remaining items on their own websites beginning May 8, but booksellers are asked not to sell the items on third-party websites.

Questions about ordering or catalog items should be directed to IBD Program Director Samantha Schoech or NCIBA Executive Director Calvin Crosby
