MailmanSales Tax Calculation Update

In January 2018, the IndieCommerce team will make changes to the sales tax calculation code for online sales with in-store pickup. To keep these sales tax calculations accurate, booksellers need to enter the expanded nine-digit ZIP Code for their store(s). Stores that don’t know their nine-digit ZIP Code can visit the USPS website.

Once you have the number, go to: Store > Configuration > Store, then select the “store address” tab. Change the ZIP Code and save.

Questions about this change can be sent to [email protected].

The IndieCommerce team has a great program planned for January. For the first time, the IndieCommerce Institute will feature both a morning and an afternoon seminar, and booksellers can register for one or for both. Seminar topics and a link to the registration page can be found on BookWeb. Booksellers who have already registered for the 2018 IndieCommerce Institute should keep an eye out for a January 10 e-mail containing important information about their registration.

Some truly wonderful experts will be sharing their insights and web wisdom this year at Winter Institute. Here are a few seminars IndieCommerce participating booksellers won’t want to miss:

E-mailNew Constant Contact Form for Newsletter Signups

Constant Contact has released a new embed form option for adding a newsletter sign-up form to your website. For booksellers who currently have the old form embedded on their sites, it will continue to work; however, attempts to edit it through Constant Contact or to edit the blocks containing the code on a store website will result in the old form no longer working. Instructions for adding the new form can be found in the IndieCommerce Help Center.

Questions can be sent to [email protected].
