The 2013 Winter Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, which will offer a jam-packed program of more than 25 education sessions, outstanding plenary speakers, peer advisory groups, reps’ picks lunches, publisher meetings, and special events, is made possible by the overall support of the Ingram Content Group, Wi8’s lead sponsor, and the support of more than 40 large and small publishers. Joining the roster of Winter Institute sponsors for the first time this year are Algonquin Young Readers, Andrews McMeel Publishing, Chronicle Books, Lonely Planet, and Steerforth Press.

“On behalf of all ABA member booksellers, we extend sincere thanks to our Winter Institute sponsors,” said ABA Development Officer Mark Nichols. “With their support, booksellers at Wi8 will experience top-notch educational programming and special events. In addition, dozens of ABA members will be able to attend the Winter Institute on scholarship. We hope that all our members will join us in thanking these sponsors.”

Wi8 is currently almost booked to capacity, and ABA is strongly encouraging members who want to attend to register as soon as possible. Once the limit of 500 booksellers is reached, names will be added to a waiting list.

Wi8 will be held from Saturday, February 23, through Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri. An opening reception, sponsored by Andrews McMeel Publishing, will kick off the event, on Friday evening, February 22, at Kansas City’s majestic Union Station.

To register and for complete details, booksellers should visit the Winter Institute 8 website, wi8.bookweb.org. The site, which features the schedule in both day-by-day and “at a glance” formats, is being updated on an ongoing basis.
