There are just a few spaces left for booksellers participating in the Book Sense marketing program who wish to attend this year's Book Sense Book & Author Luncheon at BookExpo America. The free noontime event, which will be held on Friday, June 4, is one of the highlights of the ABA Convention and is currently almost filled to capacity. More than 30 authors whose books are past or present Book Sense Picks will share lunch with booksellers, who are sure to find this an enjoyable and inspiring event. Reservations are required and are limited to two per bookstore.

Booksellers wishing to attend the luncheon, which was previously called the Book Sense 76 Luncheon, must send their reservation requests to Book Sense Marketing Director Mark Nichols at [email protected]. Nichols is sending out e-mail confirmations with table assignments this week. Recipients must print out the confirmation and bring it to the luncheon to expedite seating. The event will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center.

Anyone who has e-mailed Nichols to reserve a place and who does not receive a confirmation by Wednesday, May 19, should contact him at [email protected].

Nichols will be establishing a waiting list in the event of cancellations. In addition, there will be tables (without lunch service) at the back of the ballroom where convention attendees without reservations can sit to watch the proceedings.

This year's luncheon is once again being sponsored by The New Yorker magazine, and Levenger will again be providing gifts for all of the winners and the finalists for the Book Sense Book of the Year Awards. The winners will be announced at the evening's Celebration of Bookselling.
