On Thursday, October 31, longtime American Booksellers Association CEO Oren Teicher will be leaving his role, with his successor, Allison Hill, joining the organization as CEO effective March 1, 2020.

Teicher announced in March 2019 his plans to retire at the end of the year. Earlier this month, ABA announced the selection of Hill, who currently serves as CEO of Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, California, as the new CEO.

As previously announced, ABA Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger has been promoted to ABA’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will serve as ABA’s Senior Staff Member through March 1, 2020.

Effective immediately, all communications that would have been directed to Teicher should be directed to Dallanegra-Sanger at [email protected] or (914) 406-7518.

ABA will host a formal goodbye to Teicher at Winter Institute 2020 in Baltimore on Tuesday, January 21.

For non-ABA matters, Teicher can continue to be contacted at his personal e-mail address, [email protected].
