The complete schedule of 2009 bookseller nomination deadlines for the Indie Next Lists is now available on BookWeb.org.

"We're ending quite a year for the Indie Next List," said Dan Cullen, ABA's senior director for editorial content, "the introduction of the redesigned list -- in a new format and in full color -- has been very well received by booksellers and consumers, and the lists have included a wide range of stellar fiction and nonfiction. None of this would have been possible without the strong participation of indie booksellers and their insightful nominations. We are extremely grateful."

Looking ahead, the next deadline is Friday, December 12, for the Valentine's Day list. Following that, Friday, January 2, 2009, is the deadline for the March Indie Next List.

"Having a deadline come right after New Year's is clearly a challenge, but, to maintain a schedule that gets the fliers to the stores on time, that's what it had to be," said Cullen. "We're hopeful that booksellers will nominate early for this list, letting us know about the titles that they are looking forward to handselling in March."

Booksellers can send their nominations via e-mail to [email protected] or they can use the online form on BookWeb.org. All subject categories are welcome as nominations -- including such nonfiction categories as cooking and business. And staff selections that are featured in-store, in newsletters, or online can always be sent in as Indie Next List nominations.

Booksellers with questions are encouraged to contact Cullen.
