The American Booksellers Association’s Booksellers Forum program on Tuesday, March 13, in Nashville, Tennessee, will be capped by a special reception at Parnassus Books. Joining previously announced authors Ann Patchett (the bookstore’s co-owner), Jeanne Ray, and Adam Ross at the reception, which runs from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will be Tracy Barrett, Daniel Sharfstein, Lisa Patton, Carson Morton, and Kristan Tubb.

ABA’s Nashville forum and education program, in conjunction with the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance, is from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Green Hills Branch Library (3701 Benham Avenue). ABA members and non-members are invited to attend.

The forum program is designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to share ideas, discuss industry issues, and receive updates on various association projects. Booksellers are encouraged to come with questions and comments.

“The Best of Winter Institute 7’s Best Practices Sessions” will present a roundup of booksellers’ top tips from Wi7’s 12 half-hour “Best Practices” sessions, which focused on everything from children’s bookselling, human resources, and Google Analytics to marketing your store as a digital location, empowering your indie business alliance, and more.

To provide ABA with a headcount for the forum lunch, booksellers who are planning to attend are asked to RSVP by March 9 to Nathan Halter, ABA’s member relationship manager for the SIBA region.
