Booksellers have just one more week to order specially designed Independent Bookstore Day tote bags. The canvas bags, which are available in navy and red versions, feature a special six-panel illustration, “Time-to-Spare Book Club,” by 2014 National Book Award nonfiction finalist Roz Chast.
An order form, downloadable here, must be submitted by October 30 to the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association, which is coordinating production of the totes.
Independent Bookstore Day will be celebrated on a national level on May 2, 2015.
The totes will ship to stores nationwide in November, and booksellers are encouraged to sell them over the holidays and in the months leading up to Independent Bookstore Day to help generate excitement for the event.
Independent Bookstore Day totes are sold in bundles of 20 and are priced at $7.50 per bag, including free freight; imprinting is available at an additional fee. The suggested retail price per bag is $15, but stores are free to set their own price. The bags are nonreturnable.
Questions about the bags should be addressed to NCIBA Executive Director Hut Landon.
