Oregon & Denver Forums Next Weekend

American Booksellers Association staff and representatives of the Board will be in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain & Plains regions next weekend for a Booksellers Forum and Education Program. All ABA and regional members -- store owners and staff -- are invited to attend.

Here's a quick look at what's planned.

Mountains & Plains

In conjunction with the Mountains & Plains Booksellers Association's 3rd Annual Spring Show, ABA will be holding a Forum and Education Program in Denver on Friday, February 24, and Saturday, February 25, at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.

The events will include:

Friday, February 24

  • ABA Bookseller Forum/Continental Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Buying, Selling, and Managing Non-Book Product: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • One-on-One sessions with ABA Staff: 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 25

  • Creating Effective E-mail Newsletters: 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • Improving Efficiency to Increase Sales: 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Pacific Northwest

In conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, ABA will hold a Bookseller Forum & Education Program in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, February 25, at McMenamins Kennedy School from 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The events will include:

  • Education Program: Creating a Buy Local Campaign: 10:30 a.m. to noon
  • ABA Bookseller Forum (including lunch): 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
