PartnerShip Offers Discounts Off Rising Shipping Rates

Effective January 2, FedEx and UPS have raised their rates. According to ABA affinity partner PartnerShip, the new base rates reflect an average increase of 3.9 percent for standard ground shipping. However, PartnerShip notes that through the ABA affinity program booksellers will continue to receive deep discounts off Fed Ex's base rates.

Both FedEx and UPS have also increased their rates on air express services an average of 5.5 percent. In addition, FedEx announced that the fuel price at which surcharges begin has been adjusted, resulting in a two percent overall fuel surcharge reduction and a net average rate increase of 3.5 percent.

ABA's strategic alliance with PartnerShip also provides members with discounted rates on freight shipping via Yellow Transportation and Overnite Tranportation.
