Retail Sales at Bookstores Up in April

Retail sales at bookstores were up by 0.6 percent in April 2015 compared to April 2014, according to preliminary figures recently released by the Bureau of the Census.

April 2015 bookstore sales are estimated at $659 million, compared to sales of $655 million for the same period last year.

Total retail and food service sales in April 2015 are estimated at $437.3 billion, compared to $431.3 billion in April 2014, an increase of 1.4 percent.
