At this year’s BookExpo, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) will be setting up shop in the ABA Member Lounge (Booth 2962) on the trade show floor, along with ABA staff and other select affinity partners.

Binc logoBinc Development Director Kathy Bartson and Executive Director Pam French will be holding down the Binc table whenever the ABA lounge is open, and supporters can stop by to pick up a special Binc ribbon to clip on their BookExpo badge. The organization also has new magnets to hand out to stores reminding booksellers to “Think Binc.”

If any bookseller who visits the table has had an unforeseen financial emergency recently, they will have the option to discuss it privately with French and see if their situation qualifies for assistance. French told BTW, “I’m greatly looking forward to being in New York and getting the chance to connect with people, especially those in the industry who don’t attend Winter Institute or a regional fall trade show. I also encourage anyone with questions about financial assistance or the work we do to stop by our table. We are happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have.”

Booksellers who stop by Binc’s booth can also sign up to be a sustaining donor or make a donation of any amount while there.

BookExpo will take place from May 29-31 in the Javits Convention Center in New York City; the ABA Member Lounge and Galley Room is located in the UnBound section on the trade show floor (Booth 2962). The Lounge will be open on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed from 2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. for ABA’s Town Hall and Annual Meeting); and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
