The Children’s Book Council (CBC) is calling on booksellers, librarians, and teachers to sign up to be an official Children’s Book Week (CBW) event host during the 100th anniversary celebration, which will take place from April 29 to May 5 this year. The 2019 theme is “Read now. Read forever.”

Official event locations will:

  • Be included in CBC’s national publicity campaign
  • Have event details listed on CBC’s national event map online
  • Receive access to a downloadable activity kit, swag, and materials from publishers, as well as copies of the 2019 official poster by book creator Yuyi Morales (to be unveiled in February)
  • Collect votes from young readers for the 12th Annual Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards

Booksellers who sign up to host an event are asked to publicize their event (such as a story time, activity hour, author/illustrator visit, and more) and spread the word about Children’s Book Week on social media and via press releases provided by CBC.

Visit the CBW website to learn more about becoming an official event location. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
