'Tis the Season -- To Restock Book Sense Gift Certificates

With November almost here, it's just a matter of time before frantic consumers are crowding stores seeking the perfect gifts for family, friends, and loved ones. And, if past holiday trends are any indication, one of the more popular items will be gift certificates. According to a 2000 Gallup poll, approximately 11 percent of adult consumers in the U.S. purchase gift certificates during the holiday season.

With that in mind, it's important for independent booksellers to check stock and order more Book Sense Gift Certificates before the holiday rush kicks in, said Jill Perlstein, marketing services director for ABA. "This is a great opportunity to capture sales that would otherwise go elsewhere," she stressed. The Book Sense Gift Certificate is good in more than 1,200 independent bookstores nationwide.
