“Booksellers of America” Social Media Campaign Debuts [5]

Following an extraordinary response to the American Booksellers Association’s call for bookstore participants for the new “Booksellers of America” social media campaign, Two Cats Communications, ABA’s social media team, launched the campaign this Monday, October 29.

Booksellers of America is a platform to share the stories of the diverse people who own, manage, and hand-sell books in independent bookstores across the country. The campaign aims to illustrate the work that indie bookstores do for their communities and engage the next generation of career booksellers and local shoppers to come.

Campaign stories appear on dedicated Instagram [7] and Facebook pages [8] that anyone can follow and use the hashtag #BooksellersofAmerica.

On Monday, the series launched with a photo and quote from Nicole Magistro of Bookworm of Edwards [9] in Edwards, Colorado, followed by Pete Mulvihill of Green Apple Books [10] in San Francisco on Tuesday.

In the coming days, the campaign will feature photos and comments from booksellers such as Emilie Burl of Hickory Stick Bookshop [11] in Washington Depot, Connecticut; Jessica Hahl of The Country Bookshelf [12] in Bozeman, Montana; and others. Each week will feature five booksellers.

Booksellers who would like to be featured in the Booksellers of America social media campaign can complete this bookseller introduction form [13] to get started.
