ABA CEO Oren Teicher Talks Indies on “The Literary Life With Mitchell Kaplan” [5]

American Booksellers Association CEO Oren Teicher made a guest appearance on the Small Business Saturday episode of the podcast The Literary Life With Mitchell Kaplan [7] to talk about independent bookstores and their cultural significance. The podcast was recorded during the Miami Book Fair [8], which was held November 11–18.

Podcast host Mitchell Kaplan is the owner of Books & Books [9], which has opened a number of locations in the greater Miami area since its founding in 1982, and a co-founder of the Miami Book Fair [10].

During the fair, Teicher also joined author Jason Reynolds, the Indies First [11] spokesperson for 2018, in kicking off the “Indie Bookstores Give Back on Small Business Saturday [12]” campaign by giving away special-edition paperback editions Ghost, the first book in Reynolds’ New York Times bestselling Track series.
