E-commerce Update: Sales Dip Over Easter [5]

Here, the IndieCommerce [6] team shares an important look at current trends in the world of e-commerce.

The IndieCommerce conversion rate averaged 3.98 percent over the past seven days, due in part to a drop in online sales and traffic over the Easter weekend.

Traffic on Easter Sunday, April 4, dropped by more than 18 percent compared to the previous Sunday. While normal consumer behavior for the holiday, the sales decline may have been more pronounced due to good weather and more social activity as COVID vaccines become more accessible.

Traffic/users over the past seven days decreased by just .76% when compared to the previous seven days.

Taking the Easter holiday drop in traffic and sales into account, the numbers have been consistent with what we’ve been reporting over the past month.
