E-commerce Update: 2021 Sales vs. 2019 [4]

During this same week in pre-COVID 2019, online sales revenue was 360 percent less than what we’ve been experiencing over the past seven days on IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites. Much of that is due to an ecommerce conversion rate (the percentage of online customers that complete a purchase online) that is 123 percent higher (blue line below) than where we were for these same seven days in 2019 (orange line below).

Another big factor is that online traffic to IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites is 132 percent higher than it was for this same period in 2019 as well (blue line below).

The combination of these two statistics indicates that customers are still shopping in large numbers online despite an easing in COVID-related restrictions and an increase in vaccinations.
