Can bookstores check their sales and/or reporting status via BookScan?
- No. All BookScan data is in the aggregate; BookScan does not provide retailer breakouts. For inquiries related to reporting, please email the ABA at [email protected] [3].

What is the relationship between the ABA and BookScan?
- As of October 2022, the ABA is BookScan’s official aggregator for independent bookstore data.

Is it Nielsen, NPD, or Circana BookScan?
- US BookScan is Circana BookScan as of March 2023 following the merger between IRI and NPD.

Can bookstores still report to Nielsen?
- No. All independent bookstores must report through the ABA in order to report to BookScan. Any processes for stores to transmit sales reports to Nielsen are no longer functional and have not been functional since October 2022.
