A Book Cash check offered by SUPERVALU's Family of Stores and General Mills

Book Cash, the nationwide promotional program coordinated by The Properties Group, continues to offer consumers Book Cash checks that may be used towards purchases at participating retailers, including stores with Book Sense. Currently active are Book Cash checks from Momentum Football Town Entertainment ($5), General Mills Farmer Jack (part of Supervalu's Family of Stores) ($5), Bausch and Lomb ($2), Coke/Thirst for Knowledge ($5), and General Mills Cheerios and Chex -- Mail-In ($5). Fliers attached to all Book Cash checks provide a list of participating retailers including "Book Sense Stores" and "Independent Bookstores with Book Sense," with the Book Sense toll-free phone number and the BookSense.com address to help consumers find locations. All ABA member stores with Book Sense are automatically part of the program; no registration is required.

Booksellers should accept a Book Cash check in the same manner as a personal check or a traveler's check and collect any other money due to complete the sale. The Book Cash check should then be deposited into the store's bank account. Storeowners and managers are strongly encouraged to brief all frontline staff about the program to avoid confusion and insure a smooth consumer transaction.
