A reminder that the Scholastic Main Street Contest, celebrating the publication of Ann M. Martin's new Main Street series, is now underway. Materials are still available, and all young readers from the ages of 6 to 12 are encouraged to enter. Contest rules, a teaser chapter from Main Street #1: Welcome to Camden Falls, and a downloadable one-sheet with contest details are available via BookSense.com [5].

Participating stores may accept contest submissions until Monday, July 2. Stores will then choose five semifinalists to submit to Scholastic; entries must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, July 31. All semifinalists will receive signed copies of Main Street #3: 'Tis the Season, to be published by Scholastic in October 2007.

Winners will be chosen by Scholastic, and the creator of the winning entry will receive a $500 gift card and a signed copy of Main Street #1: Welcome to Camden Falls. Four runner-up winners will each receive a $100 gift card and a signed copy. The winning entry and the four runners-up will all be posted to www.scholastic.com/mainstreet [6].

In addition, the store submitting the winning entry will receive a visit from Ann M. Martin this fall.
